Intec and Z continue their successful development
The trade fair combination Intec and Z 2019 ended successfully today: 24,400 visitors from 41 countries (2017: 24,200 visitors from 35 countries) obtained valuable information at the first important international industry meeting of the year for the metal working and subcontracting industries. 1,324 exhibitors from 31 countries (2017: 1,382 exhibitors from 30 countries) presented innovative products and new developments across an extended exhibition space of over 70,000 square metres. Both exhibitors and visitors were very satisfied with the way the trade fair duo went.
For four days, the trade fair combination Intec and Z was the centre of attention for the metal working and subcontracting industries. "In an exhibition space that expanded again, globally active companies, as well as small and medium-sized companies, demonstrated their impressive innovative capabilities. The extensive range of products and services received a strong visitor response," says Markus Geisenberger, Chief Executive Officer of Leipziger Messe. "The excellent conversations and new contacts at the trade fairs make it clear that our trade fair duo is one of the most important industry events in Europe. Roughly 50 per cent of visitors at Intec and Z 2019 were decision-makers. Thus, our trade fair combination was once again a great success."
High Level of Satisfaction Among Exhibitors and Visitors
The exhibitors and visitors were also very positive about Intec and Z. In the official survey, 93 per cent of Intec exhibitors and 91 per cent of Z exhibitors expressed their satisfaction with the visitors' professional qualifications. Furthermore, nine out of ten respondents stated that they would recommend the trade fair duo to others.
Martin Sprung, Marketing Manager at Intec exhibitor ZCC Cutting Tools Europe GmbH, also expressed his satisfaction: "We want to grow with our market share. Which is why Intec is becoming more and more important to us. Here we get the customer contact we need. Already after the first half of Intec, the number of customer meetings had exceeded the total number at other trade fairs. In Leipzig, we have concrete project enquiries – orders are even placed."
This year's Intec and Z visitors delivered excellent testimonials. According to the survey, 94 per cent of visitors said they would recommend the trade fairs to others. 90 per cent of the respondents were certain that they will visit the next trade fair. Furthermore, 88 per cent of the surveyed visitors achieved their trade fair goals.
Intec and Z as Mandatory Industry Dates
Intec and Z attracted a large number of visitors from Central Germany and from other industrial regions in Germany. "We are delighted that the trade fair duo has once again made a good impression in Eastern Europe, for example in Poland and the Czech Republic. During the trade fairs, the relevant topics were also discussed, for example at the conference programme. Our trade fair duo has become a must for many industry players from home and abroad," explains Dr Deliane Träber, Executive Director of Leipziger Messe.
Christian Thiele, Marketing Director at Hartmetall-Werkzeugfabrik Paul Horn GmbH, agrees: "Intec is the perfect platform for our company. We can address both national and international customers here. One advantage of Intec: lots of visitors and still enough time for in-depth discussions. Intec has a permanent place in our trade fair calendar."
New Exhibitors with Successful Trade Fair Appearances
Numerous companies had successful premieres at the fairs. Among the exhibitors at Intec was Reiden Technik AG from Switzerland. Sales Manager Patrick Glanzmann: "We want to establish a market here in the region and are therefore actively involved in sales in the new federal states. There is nothing better than presenting at Intec in Leipzig. It works out very well. You can feel the visitors' need for investment and we were able to have high-quality conversations."
New exhibitors were also present at Z. wafi Walter Fischer GmbH & Co. KG, among others, was at the subcontracting fair in Leipzig for the first time. "The Z is ideal for us and proves great potential. The quality of the audience is very good. We were able to have good technical discussions, which will certainly also lead to business later on. In contrast to the usual sales research, we get personal contacts to our target group at the subcontracting fair," says Sales Manager Jochen Klein.
Trade Fairs with Nationwide and International Significance
Both Intec and Z have a national and international appeal. Matthias Funk, CEO of Hedelius Vertriebsgesellschaft mbH, which exhibited at Intec, emphasises this: "Originally, our aim was to present our products to customers from East Germany. We were pleased that we could also have good discussions with companies from all over Germany and Switzerland. The strong interest at our stand shows us that the catchment area of the Intec is growing. In some cases, customers came to our stand several times to discuss specific orders."
The international significance of Intec and Z was also reflected in the very well-attended networking forums and country-specific meetings - with participants from Russia, Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania and Turkey, among others. These events were organised by the Saxony Economic Development Corporation as part of the Intec and Z trade fairs.
Moreover, high-ranking politicians from Germany and abroad visited the Leipzig industry fairs. For example, Michael Kretschmer, Minister President of the Free State of Saxony, Martin Dulig, Saxon State Minister for Economic Affairs, Labour and Transport, Vasily Sergeevich Osmakov, Deputy Minister for Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, and Sorin-Valeriu Naș, Romanian State Secretary in the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Trade and Entrepreneurship, took a look at the spectrum of services available from exhibitors at Intec and Z.
Conference Programme Perfectly Complements Trade Fair Programme
In addition to the exhibitor programme, the current top industry topics were also addressed in the accompanying conference programme for Intec and Z 2019. Thanks to their clear focus, the events not only offered the participants added technical value, but were also very well received.
The special shows with expert panels about additives + hybrid and sensor technology inspired the experts regarding solutions for upcoming challenges. The specialist forum "new mobility" was held for the first time at the Intec and Z. "Participants were very impressed by the information VW provided about conversion measures at the Zwickau plant, where more than 300,000 electric vehicles will be produced every year. It also demonstrated that, in the context of mobility change, there will be both positive results and serious challenges for companies. These examples from the manufacturing and subcontracting industries have also impressively demonstrated how to deal with the opportunities and challenges in a concrete way," says Dr Jens Katzek, Managing Director of ACOD GmbH, who led the forum.
The topics of resource-efficient production and digitisation, as well as the Hidden Champions' paths to market leadership, were also important elements of the conference programme. At the Specialists' Day on the last day of the fair, exhibitors were able to meet young professionals.
